Scott Guthrie, influencer marketing professional adviser

Scott Guthrie is a professional adviser on influencer marketing, a conference speaker, guest university lecturer, top 10 PR blogger, host of the Influencer Marketing Lab podcast and media commentator.


He is past chair of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' (CIPR) influencer marketing panel, a Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) member, and an editorial board member of both Talking Influence and Influence publications.


Scott sits on the advisory board of the Influencer Marketing Show and is named within the influencer marketing industry's top 50


He holds an MBA and a BA (Hons.) in English Literature.

How did I get here?

I've worked with influencer marketing platforms. With global PR agencies - Digital Director, Influencer Relations at Ketchum. And with regional leaders - Communications Consultant at iSentia - the leaders in business intelligence products in Southeast Asia and Australia.


I have twenty years’ experience assisting companies within the business intelligence and financial services industries creating positive business environments and navigating reputational challenges.


I believe that placing purpose at the heart of business is the only sure-fire way to thrive in business.


I have extensive commercial experience heading functions ranging from media relations, client services and operations to product management and marketing across industries including communications and financial services.


My career spans FTSE 100 companies to start-ups including nine years at UBM’s communications arm, PR Newswire. I was the first newswire product manager in the company's then 50 years.


I was responsible for the company’s core product in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
